8th Zik’s Lecture Series

The 8th Zik’s lecture promises to be an engaging critical discourse with a focus on the topical issue of Migration. The choice of this year’s theme “Migration and Development in Africa: Patterns, Issues and Challenges” is germane as it is an increasingly important factor in the economic and socio-political policies of governments globally. To chair this year’s occasion is a former Governor of Old Anambra state, H.E Sen. Chief Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo (CON).

The Guest Speaker is H.E Dr. Bai Koroma, immediate Past President of Sierra Leone. Given his versatility and rich pedigree, we believe that he will do justice to the theme. There are three discussants for the topic and one participant. They include Festus Keyamo (SAN), the Hon. Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Federal Republic of Nigeria who is the lead discussant; Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister for Aviation, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dim Julie Okah-Donli, Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and Dike Chukwumerije (poet and motivational speaker) respectively. The deliberate choice of these erudite scholars and eminent personalities of repute as guest speakers and participants is impressive and will yield a harvest of high academic discourse in this area.

The 8th Zik Lecture would hold under the Deanship of Prof. Rita Ugokwe-Joseph, a Professor of Clinical Psychology in Department of Psychology Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. She is a Fellow of Nigerian psychological Association.
